David G. Beer, PhD

Dr. Beer is the John and Carla Klein Professor of Thoracic Surgery and a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Michigan Medical School, and is Co-Director of the Cancer Genetics Program for the university’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is an Associate Editor for Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, and the International Journal of Oncology and serves as a reviewer for many journals. He has been a member of the American Cancer Society Carcinogenesis Study Section since 2002, was Co-Chair in 2006 and Chair in 2007. He serves as Study Section Member of the TRDRP program for California, as well as ad hoc grant reviewer for the National Cancer Institute, National Science Foundation, Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, Danish Cancer Society, Italian Association for Cancer Research and the US Army Breast Cancer Program, DOD.
Dr. Beer received a Ph.D. in Biochemical Pharmacology from the University of Colorado in 1984 and a BS in Biology, minor in Chemistry, from Northeastern Illinois University in 1975.
